Where are you originally from and where do you live now?
I am originally from Peabody, Massachusetts, but during the year I live in Atlanta, Georgia where I study at Emory University.
Have a personal quote?
"It is hard to fail, but it is worse never to have tried to succeed." - Theodore Roosevelt
Pick one word to describe yourself and tell why it describes you so well.
Perfectionist. Maybe it’s a sort of an Achilles heal for me. With whatever project I am working on, I am never satisfied with my work being status quo.
What do you like most about Student Savvy? (be honest)
I like the fact that if I need information or advice on any given topic relating to money, travel, life, etc, I can find what I am looking for in a fast and simple manner. Most importantly, though, is that the information I get comes straight from both my peers and experts in their respective fields. I know what I am getting is reliable and credible.
What is the best advice you've ever received?
Just be yourself. Sometimes you learn the hard way that the best way to handle everyday situations isn't to put on a facade. You will always be successful if you stick to your own beliefs and values.
You have 2 hours to kill. What are you going to do?
If I have two hours to kill, I’m going to the movies. Hands down. Scary movies are the best, but I’ll see a comedy too.
If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you choose?
Cairo. I’ve heard so much about the pyramids and the wonders of the area that I just have to go.
Name one person you'd most like to meet and why.
I would love to meet Moses. Great leadership skills, plus the things he’s seen alone would make for great conversation.
Did you ever do something as a child that you look back on now and say, 'Wow, I'm lucky to even be alive after that!'?
Absolutely. When I was very young, my family and I went to Daytona Beach. We stayed at a huge hotel, and one day while walking down the hall with my parents I ran by myself into one of the elevators. After a while of knocking on random peoples' doors and asking if they were my parents, I was eventually returned to my rightful owners. I didn't realize it at the time, but that situation could’ve ended badly.
If you could go back in time and witness one event in history, what would you go back and see?
There are so many to choose, so I’ll give my top 3. Ranking at #1 are the events of the American Revolution. Seeing Washington cross the Delaware and all the various battles would be pretty amazing. #2 is the Middle East during the beginning of the 20th century. With so much going on, it’s hard to imagine that I could pass up that opportunity. #3 is the Battle of Actium, a huge naval battle between Octavian and Marc Antony... that would be great to see.
What's the strangest thing you've ever seen?
Pam Fogel.
What is your greatest fear?
Failure. It sticks with you forever.
