Have a personal quote?
I don’t have a personal quote, I leave musings to op-ed writers and local newspaper columnists.
Pick one word to describe yourself and tell why it describes you so well.
Dynamic because I am an "outside of the box thinker," have worked in a variety of professions, and need to spend my time on a variety of projects in order to work most effectively.
What do you like most about Student Savvy? (be honest)
The opportunity to read advice that I wish I had received in college.
What is the best advice you've ever received?
Work smarter, not harder.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
In the Wisconsin State House, as an Assemblyman. Failing that, lecturing at the University of Wisconsin and working on my graphic novel called "The Li’l Presidents."
What is your biggest pet peeve?
People who talk on cell phones in a library.
What is your greatest fear?
Failure
You have 2 hours to kill. What are you going to do?
Go to the driving range, draw, do some leisurely reading, a quick jog
If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you choose?
Japan
Which celebrity or public figure do you most resemble?
Someone told me I look like Jim Carey, but that was at a bus station so I don’t know if I actually look like Jim Carey or if this person was crazy. At first, I thought he said John Kerry... I think I would rather look like Jim Carey.
Name one thing you wish you could do/have.
Write/draw a graphic novel.
How do you define success?
Being able to sleep at night without worrying about financially security or ethically questionable decision making. Basically, being able to get to sleep with your sense of integrity.
What is your favorite sport and favorite team?
My favorite sport is football and my favorite team is the Green Bay Packers. (Sorry everyone, this fan can’t dispel the myth that everyone in Wisconsin loves the Green Bay Packers. They don’t, but I know the myth will persist).
What is your favorite movie ever and why?
The Shawshank Redemption. It is brilliantly directed, well written, features some great performances, and I think it represents an interesting microcosm of real life through the lens of a life sentence in prison.
