Bio:
Ryan started with Investors Alley in the spring of 2005. He has watched the company grow and expand into different ventures including Student Savvy. Ryan started as an assistant in the company and has since seen his role expand to spear-heading the Student Savvy venture with CEO Brett Klasko.
Ryan will graduate from Emory University in May of 2008 with a BBA with concentrations in Organization and Management and Finance, as well as a major in Political Science.
Student Savvy is Ryan’s third start-up venture. He was worked for the now defunct WestchesterJobCentral.com as a freshman in high school, where he got his feet wet in the business world, meeting with executives from many different companies and promoting the job-search service at Chamber of Commerce roundtables. Since that time Ryan has held internships at Viacom Corporation and Reed Exhibitions.
Outside of the company Ryan’s interests include playing and watching sports, singing, and enjoying college and fraternity life. Ryan is an avid Yankees fan, growing up minutes from the stadium. He also roots hard for Notre Dame Football, where his Dad went to college. He sings in both Emory University’s Concert Choir and in a co-ed a cappella group "Aural Pleasure".
Where are you originally from and where do you live now?

Have a personal quote?
"Do or do not. There is no try" - Yoda
Pick one word to describe yourself and tell why it describes you so well.
Garrulous - I love to talk, I love being around people, and I am a very outgoing person.
What do you like most about Student Savvy? (be honest)
I love working with start-up companies. Student Savvy is my third. I like creating something from nothing, going from the blue print to finished product. And to be a part of something that is helpful, new, and exciting is a bonus.
What is the best advice you've ever received?
The best advice I ever received was my Dad telling me to always do something 100%, never do something half-assed. If you say you are going to do something, do it.
What is your best money saving secret/technique? (c'mon, everyone has at least one)
The best money saving technique for me is to put the money someplace so that I forget I have it, then 3 months later when I find it, its like getting free money.
What is your biggest pet peeve?
My biggest pet peeve is waiting. I hate lines, traffic, or sitting around.
What is your greatest fear?
My greatest fear is failure.
You have 2 hours to kill. What are you going to do?
If I have two hours to kill, I am going to go the grocery store and buy something to prepare and then cook. I like to cook.
Name one person you'd most like to meet and why.
If I could meet one person in the world it would be JFK. I really admire his courage and thought his presidency was one of the best ever.
What's the best product you use that most people don't know about?
Bonine. It’s a motion sickness pill. Its non drowsy so its perfect for long trips, days at a roller coaster park, or any other time you might get sick to your stomach.
If you could go back in time and witness one event in history, what would you go back and see?
I would go back and be there for the signing of the Declaration of Independence. I think that the founding fathers did what they believed and stuck my their principles and that document is the ultimate symbol of their beliefs and the struggle our nation continues to fight today.
What is your favorite sport and favorite team?
I have two passions when it comes to sports. Notre Dame football because my Dad went to Notre Dame and when I was younger would sing the fight song to me as a lullaby. The other is the New York Yankees. Growing up minutes from the stadium got me into our national pastime and the Yankees at an unhealthy level. I am obsessed with Yankee baseball (and I hate but respect David Ortiz).
What is your favorite movie ever and why?
My favorite movie is actually a trilogy; the original three Star Wars movies. As a child I loved to watch the movies over and over and even today there still is nothing better than watching any of the three.
